Quick Fixes for Summer Beauty Disasters

If you're skin or hair is suffering from overexposure to heat and sun, or your self tanning went terribly wrong there are products on the market that can provide a quick and easy fix.

You may be too busy to research among the thousands of products out there to find just the right one to correct your problem. So BeautyInDC.com has zeroed in on some specialized products that address the most common summer beauty blunders.

A beauty ingredient that is getting a lot of attention recently is argan oil from trees found in Morocco. It's supposed to be a wonder ingredient that can help hair, skin and nails. Kiehls has included argan in their Superbly Smoothing Argan Conditioner which will turn your dry, unruly hair into a smooth mane. The product sells at Kiehls and other stores for $19.

If you were going for a bronze facial glow but ended up with damaged skin instead, Clinique's Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle & UV Damage Corrector is a specifically formulated collagen-boosting, anti-oxidant-rich serum you apply twice a day to prevent the lines and wrinkles that can result. Available at department or beauty stores or online at www.clinique.com it sells for $44.50.

Our bodies can also end up red and dehydrated in the summer sun and not only does it look unnattractive but the bumps and itchiness can be pretty uncomfortable. To soothe the discomfort and replenish the moisture you can find a relatively inexpensive product in the drug store aisles by Aquaphor. Their Advanced Therapy Healing Ointment provides relief for dry, cracked and irritated skin including burns. And at a price tag of $15.99 for a 14 oz jar it's a good deal and available at most drug stores.

Even if you're avoiding the sun and going the self-tanning route you can end up with streaks and splotches that you would rather not have to live with until they fade away. To speed up the process you can use a product by Model Co that is specially formulated to dissolve self tanning blunders. The name says it all--Tan Remover Exfoliating Scrub! It's micro salt particles will dissolve the streaks or orange spots in minutes and leave your skin soft to boot. The product is $29.95 and is available at Sephora and other beauty product stores.

And one last product to rescue you from what might be one of the most dreaded of all the beauty disasters which is the one where you decided to color your own hair and are horrified by the outcome. Color Oops removed all permanent or semi-permanent hair color and is amonia/bleach free so it's not adding extra damage to your hair. And you can re-color the same day, and hopefully with an improved outcome the second time around! CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid carry a regular or extra strength version and it sells for between $7.99 and $10.99.
